FreeWRL Hardware Devices

We are creating, or purchasing dedicated MIDI I/O hardware to investigate navigation in, and instrumentation of, Shared Virtual Worlds. Such as:

  • Dedicated Ultrasonic Sensors We have an Engineer working on sensoring a laboratory such that positional data (and approximate population) of people in the lab can be fed into a virtual world. These sensors are using Ardunio boards to synchronize ultrasonic sensors with MIDI input.

  • On the wish list:MIDI Pad Controllerto allow "pushbutton" functionality from something other than a keyboard and mouse (eg, the Korg PadKontrol

  • On the wish list:MIDI High Resolution I/O deviceto allow testing of 14 bit high resolution I/O. One device, the Moog Voyager Rack Mount fits the bill.
